Bank Islam Visa Platinum-i

Earns
5% Groceries, from RM5,000 a month
Minimum spend
RM5,000 a month for the top rate
Min income
RM36,000 a year
Annual fee
RM388 Waived at RM120 spend a year

Good for

  • Online, auto billings, groceries and dining: 5% cash back once your month's retail spend reaches RM1,500, 3% from RM500.
  • Overseas spend in person: 1% cash back in a month with RM5,000 of retail spend, up to RM100.

Watch out

  • The 3% and 5% cash back is capped at RM30 a month.
  • Other local spend earns only 0.2%, and nothing below RM500 a month.
  • Each cash back type needs a minimum total retail spend in the month, and government, FPX and JomPAY payments earn nothing.
  • RM388 annual fee unless you make 12 transactions or spend RM120 a year.

What it earns

Cash back, as a share of what you spend.

  • Counts toward the minimum: every billed purchase, except the ones below.
  • Does not count: Government / LHDN / JPJ, JomPAY / FPX / DuitNow to billers, Touch 'n Go reloads, Grab top-up / GrabPay, Boost top-up, ShopeePay top-up and MAE / other e-wallet.
